MIKE BREEN

Building a Disciple Making Culture

When you listen to Mike Breen speak, you are caught up in his incredible passion for the church, its mission, and the discipling of it’s people.
Mike is a speaker, author, minister and entrepreneur, and one of the leading innovators in the discipling movement throughout Europe and the US for more than 25 years.
He led a church re-plant in inner city London, England and in Sheffield, England; under his leadership St. Thomas’s grew to become the largest church in England in 2000. Later that year he launched a team that began a movement in Europe that planted over 1400 churches in 4 years.
Mike and his wife Sally live in South Carolina, where they founded 3DM, a movement/organization which has now spread to 5 continents, training thousands of leaders and churches in how to move to a discipling culture and missional mindset.

Reclaiming the Genius of the Class Meeting

Kevin M. Watson is the author of Pursuing Social Holiness: The Band Meeting in Wesley's Thought and Popular Methodist Practice, The Class Meeting: Reclaiming a Forgotten (and Essential) Small Group Experience, A Blueprint for Discipleship: Wesley's General Rules as a Guide for Christian Living, and the co-author of Reclaiming the Wesleyan Tradition: John Wesley's Sermons for Today. The Assistant Professor of Wesleyan and Methodist Studies at Candler School of Theology at Emory University, he is an ordained elder in the Oklahoma Conference of The United Methodist Church. KENT CARLSON

Renovation of the Church

Kent Carlson (BA, Trinity College.  MAR, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School) is the founder (1984) and co-senior pastor of Oak Hills Church in Folsom, California.  Kent also serves as the Vice President for Leadership Formation at the North American Baptist Conference.  He lives in El Dorado Hills, California and has been married to his wife, Diane, since 1982.  They have three daughters, two granddaughters, two dogs, two goats, one cat and a bunch of chickens. He is the co-author of the book, Renovation of the Church (IVP) and believes that the Chicago Cubs will soon win the World Series and then the end will come.

CHRISTIN TAYLOR

Doubt as a Tool for Spiritual Formation

Christin Taylor is a missionary kid raised in the Wesleyan church. Her childhood and adolescent years were split among the diverse backdrops of Canada, Haiti and England. Today she lives in Southern Ontario with her MK husband, Dwayne, and their two kids. Her first two books were published by Wesleyan Publishing house and she is currently working on her third titled, “Fragile Faith: Living in the Places Where Faith Feels Thin”. She is a professor of writer with her MFA in Creative writing, a wife, mother and advocate for the marginalized and outsider. You can read more about her work at www.christintaylor.com.

 

PHIL STEVENSON

Developing Leadership Pipelines

Phil Stevenson currently serves as the District Superintendent for The Pacific Southwest District of The Wesleyan Church. He has oversight of 70 churches in four states. 
Passionate about coaching and multiplying leaders and churches, Phil has pastored three churches, all in California: Vista Wesleyan, Arcade Wesleyan and Spring Valley Wesleyan, and led two churches in the parenting of seven congregations.
Phil has written multiple articles on church planting and parenting, church fitness and growth. He has contributed to The Pastor’s Coach a bi-weekly equipping e-mail provided by The InJoy Group.

MATT LEROY

Radical Disciple Making

Matt LeRoy is a co-pastor of Love Chapel Hill, an eclectic incarnational church plant in downtown Chapel Hill, NC that is marked by love, hospitality and grace. Committed to serving and loving Chapel Hill with the heart and ways of Jesus, Missional discipleship is at the core of Matt’s ministry calling.  He is co-author of the forthcoming book, Paradox: Embracing the Tensions in Christianity as well as Awakening Grace: Spiritual Practices to Transform Your Soul and The Way Forward: Discovering the Classic Message of Holiness, and is a contributor to Seedbed’s Church Planter Collective blog http://churchplantercollective.seedbed.com.

CARLOS CEDENO

Discipling the Community

Carlos Cedeno founded "The Bridge Youth Ministries" (in 2000), now a common name throughout Elizabeth, New Jersey’s thirty-five public schools. He has been a catalyst in creating a unique movement that reached thousands of youth in his city throughout the last 15 years. The Bridge meets weekly in seven different locations simultaneously, drawing students from different walks of life, communities, and even faiths. Besides being the senior pastor of his church, Carlos is also serving his third elected term as a City Councilman and has served one term as a Board of Education Commissioner. He is extremely passionate in seeing churches break out of their four walls and bring transformational change in their communities.

DAVE JOHNSON

Dave Johnson pastors a church in Southern California and is passionate about disciple making and spiritual formation.  Dave also serves as the Discipleship Coordinator for the office of Church Multiplication and Discipleship of The Wesleyan Church. He is a passionate about his family, growing disciples and skateboarding.  Dave is also a frequent speaker to churches and colleges on issues of spiritual formation and discipleship.  He’s a graduate of California Polytechnic University (Political Science and International Relations) and Azusa Pacific University (Masters in Christian Education).

JEREMY SUMMERS

Jeremy Summers is the Director of Spiritual Formation for the Wesleyan denomination. Prior to this role, he served at three Wesleyan churches in Indiana and Illinois, and has studied at Indiana Wesleyan University (B.S.), Asbury Theological Seminary MDiv), and currently at Fuller Theological Seminary (DMin). Jeremy is also the co-author of the forthcoming book, Paradox: Embracing the Tensions in Christianity, The Merge Series, as well as Awakening Grace: Spiritual Practices to Transform Your Soul, and The Way Forward: Discovering the Classic Message of Holiness.
